Street Play
Vale Play Team are excited to be launching our pilot Street Play initiative in 2023. The pilot has been developed in partnership with Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Play Team; Highways; Legal; Active Travel; and with support from Play Wales. Those involved in the pilot will be able to apply for a ‘Temporary Street Play Order’ to close their street for two hours a month, creating a space for children to play out under the supervision of their parents and carers.
"Street play, or ‘playing out’, sessions are short, resident-led road closures to let children play safely and freely outside their own front door. Streets are now doing this all over the UK and it’s having really positive benefits for children and communities." – What is Street Play? Playing Out
