Flying Start is a Welsh Government-funded programme designed to give children aged 0-3 years the best possible start in life. Available in targeted areas, the programme provides families with access to a range of high-quality services and support during their child's crucial early years.
Flying Start aims to improve outcomes for children and families by promoting children's language, cognitive, social, emotional and physical development, while ensuring that any additional needs are identified and supported as early as possible.
The programme offers a comprehensive package of support, including intensive midwifery and health visiting services, parenting programmes, Early Years support, and access to the Welsh Government-funded childcare offer for 2-year-olds.
For families living outside a designated Flying Start area who require additional support, elements of the programme may also be available through outreach services.
